He's Qualified

Yesterday morning Charlie had his qualifying exam. He finished his paper two weeks ago, submitted it to his committee for review, and he was to present a brief overview and answer related questions from his committee. He's been prepping for this for some time, was ready to get past this, and move onto the next step.

He was well prepared, but brought some homemade banana bread to woo the PhDs if his research aims did not. Not surprisingly, they were impressed by his research and knowledge, and he passed with flying colors.

So we were off to celebrate.


We had a yummy dinner...

Argentine steak, done just right, complete with a fried egg, and washed down with Argentine wine and pisco sours.

Bruno and Liz keep us entertained with great conversation...lots of teasing and laughing.

Charlie is relieved to have this out of the way, but now has his mind awhirl with "the next step," paper writing.

Amazingly the man is able to settle that whirling enough to turn on the tube the following morning and snuggle with the pooch rather than popping out of bed and getting to work.


He deserves a little break. A little break. It'll be back to the grind tomorrow.
