Easter Sunday

The boys were very excited to find the trail of chocolate leading to their baskets and treats.  The Bunny left beach chairs, new beach robes, sand buckets, and some art supplies.  The boys got several special deliveries before Easter so we are fully stocked on candy here.

 After a Reese's egg breakfast we headed to the Bronx Zoo for the day. 

It was chilly and overcast so crowds were thin. 

When you ask Hans what he wants to see at the the zoo he says...Ummmmmm, Giraffe!  We did see the giraffes and lots of other big animals we don't get to see when we visit the little Central Park Zoo.  The temperatures are still a bit cool so not all of the animals are in their habitats for viewing, and Freddie was a bit disappointed to not see the elephants or the camels.  

We spent plenty of time checking out the butterflies and reptiles in their warm houses. 

The boys also love riding the Bug Carosel. 

Although after much fussing whenever I tried to steady him, Hans decided he did want my hand once the carousel got going.

A great day. 

Dying Eggs with the Guys

Undies only.  We let Dada slide.  I wish we had a yard to do this in, but it was *pretty* chilly out even at the end of March anyway.

This year we used clear glasses so the boys could see the eggs and the colors.  This worked better than the usual chili bowls.

We covered the work area with butcher paper.

And I contained everything on a jelly roll pan which was a smart move with this group. 

Beautiful results and egg salad for lunch all week.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Easter weekend began with sunshine and an egg hunt. 

The boys made bonnets. 

And guess who ended up wearing them.  Sadly, no photo of Dada in his, but I'm hoping to see a photo of him in his when the monthly community newspaper arrives.

Best part...each boy got a book.  They were content to sit under a tree for quite a while.
