Lead Level
Freddie's lead level is down to 4.
It had been 3 at six months and 6 at nine months. I'm relieved to see it dropping. I imagine this is mostly due to the reduction of mouthing objects although he is still pretty fond of chewing on most everything he picks up.
We'll continue to monitor it.

Lead
Talked to the nurse this morning.
Freddie's lead level is up. It's 6. Three months ago it was 3.
I am feeling very anxious but am trying to hold on to that medical standard of it needing to remain below 9 before we worry.
It upsets me more that it is rising than it does that it is 6, if that makes sense. I'd probably be hysterical if I didn't have such a rational husband.
We're going to try to be even better with our previous list of precautions and amp them up as well...more mopping, more dog bathing. But I really wish I knew what the true source of contamination was. Maybe testing the floor for lead dust just to get an idea of the lead on the floor on an average day would help. Perhaps there is another source? I am also curious what the "average" lead level is for babes. I know it should be 0, but how common is a level of 6 in a 9 month old?

Lead Level
Talked to Nurse D today.
Blood lead level is 3. Hmmm. Of course 0 is what I had hoped for, but they tell you anything up to 9 is considered "normal." Not exactly reassuring, but we'll go with it and test again at our next visit (or perhaps at 12 months).
We've submitted soil samples for testing and we will be testing our water soon (my guess is Charlie will do it tonight while I am at seminar. Hint, hint.)
Oh, and he was not anemic either. Not sure why that was tested, but it was. I think I need to do some reading.
