Truth be told there was a whole lotta Christmas going on round here for quite some time, although you'd never know scrolling through my pictures from December. It seems like when things get busy and exciting I slack off on photos. I suppose that's because I'm too busy, and that's ultimately a good thing? It makes me a bit sad to see so few photos, but this is a bit of the holiday…
- We had advent calendars again this year. The elves were packed with little animals and once again Hans was not pleased that he only got to take one a day. We also had a daily activity calendar again this year which was probably my favorite part of the season.
- It didn't matter how big or small the activity was, it was always exciting to see what it was and be in the holiday spirit. Although my red and green meal idea last year didn't go over well last year I tried again this year with a wreath and grinch punch. It went over a little better, but still not a hit. Who could turn down this little wreath?
- I liked the activities that gave us new ornaments. I'll need to think of some others for next year, although next year will be different with Freddie in school five days a week. And I imagine he'll be brining home some crafty creations from school.
- Freddie provided us with two new plates.

- We did the elf thing again this year. Freddie started calling him Ethan rather than Avan. We tried to e creative with his placement, but it was pretty difficult to be creative in this tiny apartment. Next year I think we'll skip the elf. I think next year will be a year for Freddie to become suspicious of Santa, and we don't need the elf around to tip him off. And quite frankly, it is some added work and Christmas is just as magical without the elf.
- We didn't really have many gifts under our tree this year, but the ones that were there got poked and shook over and over and over.
- We spend Christmas in OKC. Santa found us there and left the boys just what they asked for: A train for Hans and a remote control submarine for Freddie. Santa also left a two wheeled scooter for Freddie and a race car track for Hans.
- Santa had planned to leave another gift at the house, but we ditched that plan at the last minute. The boys get gifts galore and by the time we get home on in January I am ready for the gifts and hoopla to be over.
- Although they asked for a submarine and a train, I think the car track and scooter are the bigger hits.
- We were in NOLA until the first week of January. The boys really loved being with their cousins. Family time never gets old. I hope they always feel that way.
- It's now mid January and we still are yet to come out of the holiday haze. Soon.
- Freddie cried when the tree was taken down. We're all sad for the holiday fun to be over. I've tried to explain the specialness of the season is only becomes it only happens once a year. He doesn't quite get it yet, and I understand. I really love the holidays with these boys.
