Freddie's Music Class

Freddie's school has a new music teacher this year, who is a rather green teacher.  The principal thought it best to break him in slowly with "informal" in school performances rather than the full night of performances by every grade level.  I thought that was really nice of her, although I did miss seeing Freddie in his black and white ensemble.

The video is lengthy...sorry!  These things are so cute.  I smile the entire time watching, but I understand if you aren't are riveted!  He is just right of center.  Can you see him?

The new music teacher seems to be working out well despite being tasked with teaching grades preK-8, not something any teacher willingly signs up for.  I think the plan is to have a spring concert so maybe we'll dust off the black slacks and tie.

Easter 2016

Hello??  Anyone there?  Anyone still reading?

I'm back!  Trying not to beat myself over missing so many months and just move on, but there were certainly some milestones in there that MUST be documented.  I mean, Freddie turned 7!  I just cannot let that go.

Anyway, this will be short and sweet, hopefully just enough to help get me back into the groove of this space.  And just enough to keep all of you feeling in the loop.

Easter weekend included our community Egg Hunt.  All of our favorite Jewish and Muslim friends were there to hunt eggs with us, which is my very favorite part of living in NYC.

We dyed eggs.  Hans, as expected, plowed through his dozen very quickly, dropping them in the glasses, splashing, spilling, and just going hog wild.

Freddie approached it all with a bit more finesse, taking his time, carefully selecting colors.  The kid took forever to dye all 12 of his eggs.

And the Easter Bunny came, delivering chocolates and games and hiding eggs.

Freddie made "baskets" for everyone

Apartment egg hunting is kinda lame, but its all we got!

The Bunny even brought personalized swim caps, which Freddie will conveniently need now that he is on the competitive swim team and getting ready for meets!

We rounded out the weekend with a family bike ride over the Queensboro Bridge (sadly no pictures on the bridge) for pizza lunch and then Easter ham dinner at home.

(How's that for a post?)
