Time to visit some monuments. That is what DC is all about, right?
It was a whole lot of walking, which was a bit rough at times. Especially for dear old Dad who carried Hans on his shoulders a lot.

But worth it. The boys are sill pretty young for what many would consider ready for DC, but they got quite a bit out of this trip. It is nice to have the opportunity to discuss history with them in this setting. Both boys have been interested in Abraham Lincoln lately so being able to take them to Ford's Theatre and talk about Abraham Lincoln as president, the Civil War, and discuss his assassination within the context of what they were seeing and hearing was nice.

We also toured The Capital. I loved how the boys, especially Freddie, managed to keep up front and center with the tour guide. Both boys paid close attention and really listened.
We got to see where the Supreme Court used to be.

We also hit Old Ebbitts for some crab cakes.
Another great day together!
The next morning was rainy and cold so we headed to the National Aquarium on the ride home as planned.
The aquarium was empty and amazing! The boys looked at every single creature.

We bought a membership since it was only a little bit more expensive than our tickets and we'd love to plan a trip to Baltimore once spring rolls around.
I am so thankful for the ability to pack us up and head out on these adventures. I am thankful we're healthy. I am thankful we're together.
I am so thankful I get to share this life with these turkeys.
We have a good life.
