Museum Day

To avoid the snow and cold on Saturday, we checked out the hot, humid, butterfly exhibit at the Natural History Museum.

It is definitely a tropical climate in there and while I loved having that "glisten," Charlie was downright hot.  It made me miss having a garden to tend and butterflies to watch in our own backyard.

Freddie didn't have much patience waiting for the butterflies to sit still so he could check them out, so onto the dinosaurs we went.  We visit the 4th floor each time we visit as well as one other part of the museum.

This is pretty much how he looks all the time in there...mouth open and map in hand.
Getting out in between morning nap and afternoon nap is a challenge.  I feel like the time passes in a blink, and it's a whole-lotta work getting out of the house with two of them.  Lots of schlepping and corralling and some crying from all parties involved, but in the end I'm (usually) glad we did it.

No point in living in NYC and not taking advantage of all that it has to offer, right?  And I can say bringing Freddie out and about has really contributed to his independent nature and curiosity.

It won't be much longer before Hans will be right there with Freddie. For now he was content to jabber as we strolled along.
